Heads off to you for this effort.
I also interested to translate some things to kannada.
How can I avail your support and to do those things.

Most of the Kannada texts are in English, and even if the most earnest learner learns it by reading it, he might only end up having to unlearn what he has learnt once he starts speaking it. One of my colleagues raised the point of getting the pronounciation right, and its imossible to do it by reading. This was what I was looking for:

I think this is one of the key links. Now what's really missing, is that for each of the alphabets, we could add the correct english transliteration text!

That would enable people to learn by reading English text AND get the pronounciation right!

Hello, I want to type in old Kannada characters like that really twisty 'R' sound and the really twisty "L" sound... there seems to be provision for borrowed characters like the Sankrt's 'R' kinda sounding vowel, I think it's a shame to not have provision for native Kannada characters and have characters from other languages!

I am surprised and very very very happy that kannada have an updated website. Thanks to whole team of the website . I am searching for kannada vedas artha which is very humbly required.Hope I get fruitful results.
With bests wishes,
sowmya

hi this site is very good we can lern about kannada all things
realy i was very happy with this site thanku all
now i am in middle east

@Naresh:

I think some explanation from you here would surely do. First of, Which Operating system are you using? which IME have you been using? and where were you trying to type those old characters?

Both Baraha (for Windows) and m17n-scim (for Linux) have a provision for you to type the haLegannada letters, FYI.

I think it’s a shame to not have provision for native Kannada characters and have characters from other languages!

In what context has this been written?

please update this page
so many links wont work no updated also.

yep. Some updates are in store (and very much needed) on this website - but that would have to wait another two weeks. I've had a horrible schedule these days.
