As the ritual starts at a typical Havyak wedding, the bride and bridgegroom are distanced with a cloth. Chants and mantras all around, the duo wait for their opportunity to exchange flower studded garlands immediately after the seperation is taken away.

It is said that the one who gets to put the garland first enjoys quite natural domination during the rest of married life.
