Four plus years of existence

Until a journalist friend of mine asked me about my old posts on this website (specifically Kannada ones) and until I went digging for those, I had not realized that this website has been on the Internet for more than four years now.

It was first a little page on geocities (maybe in 2003? I don't remember now!). It became a blog later on weblogs.us, initially running on Movable Type. Later it was hpnadig.com and with help from an old friend - Carthik, was hosted running with the code I wrote on my own for that ambitious website I had planned.

It was fun coding scripts to run the website when there was ample time to play with the scripts. Turns out that I didn't enjoy .com much, and later it became quite boring upkeep of my own script. I soon shifted the domain over to hpnadig.net, removed the scripts I had written to run the website (it was running then on flat files for a while and then on SQLite) and gave some open source content management systems a try.

The transition was then between TextPattern, Wordpress (for which I designed some themes that were quite popular then), and Drupal.

Neglected for most part by its owner, this website has stayed for times like this - when I'm bored and want to write something - write as much that makes me laugh sometime few years later, when I'm looking back at all this.

On a brighter side though, I don't seem to get bored easily. What with Sampada, where so much is written in Kannada!
If you're reading this and come up to this point, I might as well suggest you to read my Kannada blog (assuming that you can read Kannada), which gets more updates than here.

Cheerio
